ARTIST BIO

Welcome to Sarah K Swanson-Masterpiece Studio. Sarah K. Swanson is a artist and art teacher and with over 20 years of experience working with youth with disabilities. Her research on disability, art education, and resiliency has been presented at conferences and published online. A recipient of the 2025 PAEA Outstanding Special Needs Art Educator award and the 2026 NAEA, VSA, Councel for Exceptional Students- Peter Geisser Special Needs Art Educator of the Year Award, Sarah holds an MA in Art Education from Moore College of Art & Design and a BFA from Parsons School of Design.  Her artwork explores the relationship between color, memory, and personal experience through layered compositions and intuitive mark-making. Her meditative creative process invites reflection, using color and repetition to evoke a sense of calm, connection, and contemplation.

She currently resides with her family in Philadelphia.
